In America The early performance arts achievements of the young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the prodigy child category. However, for a child from Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and family, those were not innate traits. Maureen was born in Ranelagh which was a suburb in Dublin the capital of Ireland on 17 August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the renowned Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons came second from a household of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this gorgeous group. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and played rough, athletic games when she was young. Furthermore her talent, she also had a knack to act. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis awards for drama and the stage that her country had to offer. By age 14 she was accepted to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic singing.
